Networking for Success: Forming Meaningful Connections
Workshop Description:
This workshop will help participants to overcome the norms around networking,
address and work on their limiting beliefs about how they approach connecting
with others, and give participants tools and tactics to employ to have conversations
that establish genuine relationships. Participants will experience a new perspective
towards networking from being a “what’s in it for me” approach, to making it
about the other person, focusing on how they can support others, and conveying
what they’re passionate about in a way that resonates with others. They will learn
powerful questions to start conversations, develop their story telling abilities, and
practice their listening skills. Overall, the goal is to give participants a breadth of
skills and tools to feel more comfortable in a networking environment, create lasting
impressions on others, and to build the confidence to enjoy the process.
Learning Objectives:
• Help participants feel more comfortable and confident to network
• Give participants with tools and tactics to have better conversations
• Help participants change their perspective towards networking from a
“what’s in it for me” approach, to making it about the other person, how they
can support others, and how they convey who they are in a way that connects
with others.
